The Oldest Pictures from the construction (April and May):
Above is from evening, April 16; ready for slab pour.
Below, from morning, April 21, slab pour complete, and framing on deck:
Below, framers made great progress on Wednesday, 21st. This, as of dawn, April 22:
All the walls are up, and the rain remains at bay on April 23:
The sheathing is being added to the outside walls, April 23:
Joists going on early this week of April 26, with rafters to follow:
All the joists are set on April 27, and a bit of rain sent the crew home early on Monday. The rafters will start April 28. The material above the joists this (28th) morning is scaffolding for rafter work:
What a difference another day makes...morning of April 29:
Rain moved in about 10am on April 30. So, not much happened. Still rainy today, 5/1 (shown below), so it remains to be seen what progress is made. Roof decking should go on in the next few days of the work-week.
Friday and Saturday brought scattered showers, even some pea-sized hail--only one-half inch in total rain, but just enough at intervals to scrub the work for the end of the week. Foggy today, May 2, and the framers are resting up for a final push to "dry in" this week:
No real change over the weekend of May 1, so here's the lastest from the back side:
Made great progress with the roof deck on Mondaym 5/3:
Roof deck is complete. Roofer due in today, provided materials arrive. Happy cinco de mayo!
Shingles ready to go on today, May 6.
ROOF IS ON! Moving inside for electrical, heat/air, etc.
Visible progress on the exterior will probably slow down for a few weeks. Interior wiring, heat and air work is underway, along with some ceiling drywall work.
The the reception room, looking south.
Looking East, two days later:
In the halls, first looking west, second looking east. Seems like a long hallway, especially in the dark...
Our contractor reports there's a delay in getting the windows due to an aluminum shortage. We may be on a slow down for a week or so until the windows arrive.
The "Acme" truck delivered the brick Friday (5/14), as you can see outside the conference room window:
Above, in the reception area, looking west.
Below, sound baffling in the NW corner office.
Above, getting ready to start the brick-work.
Insulation foamed onto exterior walls, and gypsum board ready to go up (conference room):
Brick on back side:
Wednesday (5/19) was a rainy day--all morning, and again in the evening. Not much happened but completion of the foam insulation on the exterior walls. Below are the walls of the NW office. Thursday may be rain-less, but still damp.
The brick-men and sheet-rock men were busy Thursday (5/20) and had great weather to work:
Friday, May 20:
The bricklayers worked some Saturday, adding to the front of the building:
More progress on the brick...
Front brick work completed. The door shown is temporary to secure the interior while awaiting delivery of the final door.
Drywall crew has been busy inside, too. Mudding the seams, and screw locations. Below is the lobby, from the front door.
WINDOWS! The windows finally arrived Thursday, and a couple were installed. More today--should be sealed up by the weekend. A milestone!
More windows installed...
All the windows are installed. The drywall mud man is there Saturday (5/29) to texture some inside walls.
